Testimonial Series – Interacting with Our Customers and the Cornish’s Family

This week, we continue our series of testimonials from the staff of Cornish's Variety. Have fun as you read and hopefully, the stories inspire you in some way! If you'd like to join the conversation or share your interactions with the store, send us an email at info@cornishvariety.ca. You may also drop by the store to share.

My name is Dana Fraser. I have been working here at Cornish’s Variety for almost 11 years.

Here at our store, I deal with a lot of people. Most are regular customers that we have a good relationship with. Usually, I’d help them find a product that they want and always try to make them smile and feel special.

Here at our store, I also work a lot in our kitchen. We have a daily special at lunch hour for people in our community and I also make sandwiches and subs. So, we always have those ready to go.

We also have donuts and other treats in the morning for our customers to go with their coffee. I also stock our drink coolers and stock shelves with items we sell.

Our manager, Ola Williams, is great. She’s always there to help us and is always coming up with fun and new ideas to advertise our store and all we have to offer. She has made the store up to date with a website and social media which we didn’t have before she took over.

Did I mention ice cream “Come in and get your scoops” - yum yum.

I love my job and everyone here. I look forward to coming to the store every day and interacting with our customers and the Cornish’s family!

Worry can weigh a person down, but an encouraging word cheers a person up. 'Cornish’s Cheer' hopes to be an encouragement to people who are under pressure, feel lonely, discouraged, or rejected. I hope these writings impart cheer, and hope and help you flourish with patience, love, and sincerity. Be encouraged and cheered. Also, practice 'speaking' positive affirmations, which can be a powerful tool to help boost confidence.
